James “Jim” Albert DeKanic, 96 yrs., at rest September 20, 2018 at home in Westchester.  Army veteran of WWII.  Born in Eagle River, WI in 1922.  Son of the late Joseph and Anna.  Preceded in death by beloved former wife, Anna nee Zuro and sister, the late Mary Blazina.  Loving husband of devoted Halina.  Dear father of Ann Boy (Jim) Paleczny, Judy (Bill) Knieriem and Joanne (Tim) McInerney.  Grandfather of John Harrington, Tim McInerney, Melanie Cech, Denise Gragnano and Deanna Baker.  Great-grandfather of 6.  50 year member of the Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge 32, Lakeside Press Retirement Club and Over 50 Club.

Services are Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, 9:30 am at Adolf Funeral Home, Ltd., 7000 S. Madison St., Willowbrook to Divine Providence Catholic Church.  Mass 11:00 am.  Entombment at Resurrection Cemetery.  Visitation is Sunday, September 23rd from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
